A meeting opportunity, not an automatic solution
HKTDC's 13 October opening announcement describes the GoGlobal Connect Zone as bringing together finance, legal, accounting and insurance service providers. It supports discussions about financing, intellectual property, logistics, compliance and risk management for mainland businesses connecting with international markets through Hong Kong.
Meeting a service provider is distinct from obtaining a service. Needs, scope, fees and arrangements still require agreement. Participation does not establish financing, insurance cover or permission to enter a market, nor does it mean that one consultation resolves every issue.
Start with the business scenario
Introducing an existing product to an overseas distributor is different from establishing local operations, co-developing a product or considering investment. Clarifying the intended arrangement before inviting specialists can help a team avoid both unnecessary work and overlooked questions.
For distribution, begin with the product, target market and expected responsibilities. For joint development, distinguish existing work from proposed contributions. These are suggestions for preparing a discussion, not legal or tax conclusions applicable to every market.
Bring specific questions, not only a pitch deck
| Matter | Questions to organise first | Useful next step |
|---|---|---|
| Contracts and responsibilities | Who will contract, what is included and which responsibilities remain open? | Identify the documents and issues requiring professional review |
| Accounting and operations | Who receives payment, issues invoices and incurs costs? How are records organised? | Confirm required information and service scope |
| Intellectual property | What already exists, what is proposed and who may use the information? | Identify rights and usage matters needing separate agreement |
| Insurance and risk | How will the product be delivered and used? Which risks need discussion? | Ask a qualified provider about terms and potential scope of cover |
| Logistics and fulfilment | Where is delivery, who arranges transport and how do installation and support connect? | Identify responsible parties and unresolved steps |
This table structures a conversation. It does not determine legality, tax exposure or insurability. Those conclusions require appropriately qualified professionals familiar with the circumstances and target market.
Define a deliverable for each professional task
After an introduction, establish the problem to address, the information required and what the team will receive at the end of this piece of work. An introductory discussion, a document review and ongoing support may be separate arrangements rather than one general request to help a company go global.
It is equally useful to note what falls outside the current scope. Market research is not contract review, and a channel introduction does not assign after-sales responsibility. Clear boundaries help product teams, industry partners and specialists coordinate.
Hong Kong-Shenzhen cooperation involves distinct roles
Teams across Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area can continue their product, engineering and supply-chain work while using Hong Kong to understand international demand and professional-service needs. Cooperation requires identifying the people responsible for market, product and specialist matters, not assuming that one organisation undertakes every role.
Jimhang Capital and Jimhang Academy welcome discussions about introductions, industry resources, entrepreneurship support and clarifying cooperation needs. Specific legal, tax, accounting and insurance advice should come from qualified providers under an appropriate engagement. HKTDC's GoGlobal Connect Zone and jimhang.com's Going Global section are distinct initiatives; this article does not establish official authorisation or joint operation.
Begin with a non-confidential one-page description
Outline the product and stage, target market, intended cooperation and three questions needing an answer. Before sharing customer information, technical details or an unpublished plan, establish whether disclosure is necessary and what version is appropriate.
Jimhang Academy's founder roadshow is scheduled for 15 October, 15:00–16:30 Hong Kong time, at INNOVATIONHub, Startup Zone, Old Wing 1/F. The fair continues through 16 October. Before the roadshow occurs, its schedule is an invitation, not a report of deals or funding outcomes.
Find all ten projects, booths and original posters in the Jimhang Going Global fair feature. Meet Jimhang at J02 or contact Justin Zhan / Jimhang Capital. The fair follow-up guide offers a separate framework for continuing project conversations.
The exhibition mechanism comes from HKTDC's announcement, checked on 15 October 2026. Questions and coordination methods are editorial suggestions, not individual legal, tax, insurance or investment advice.
